What is your favourite meal to cook at home?
Red beans and rice. When my kids were young, we would play music while we cooked. We loved the song “Red Beans and Rice” by the soul group Spearhead, so one day I decided to make up my own version of the Louisiana Creole dish. I still make it for my — now adult — children. It is super simple soul food.

Where do you buy your clothes/what are your favourite clothing labels right now?
I wear much the same clothes as I wore in my teens. Work boots, jeans, a t-shirt and sometimes a jacket. I could probably find all I need at a second-hand workwear store. But I do love my Nudie selvedge denim jeans and Hugo Boss woollen bomber jacket. I’ll likely be wearing them 20 years from now.

Where is your favourite place to dine?
At home. Otherwise, if I am eating out, Dear Sainte Éloise in Potts Point is a go to. They have a fine sommelier and promote experimental winemakers. And they do great snacks — like tuna crudo and pork terrine.

Favourite cafe?
We have a very fine Rocket Giotto coffee machine in the studio. That is hard to beat. Otherwise, Primary Coffee, Potts Point, always has an excellent brew if you can beat the queue.
